This version features tender minced chicken stir-fried with garlic, chili, and a blend of savory sauces, finished with the unmistakable fragrance of Thai holy basil. Topped with a crispy fried egg and served over steaming jasmine rice, it’s the perfect balance of heat, sweetness, and umami in every bite.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken mince (or pork/beef)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2–3 Thai bird’s eye chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce (for color)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup Thai holy basil leaves (or Thai sweet basil)
