Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease or spray a standard loaf pan. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt until well combined. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, ensuring it’s evenly coated with the dry mixture — this helps the cheese distribute evenly throughout the loaf.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing — the batter should be slightly lumpy for a soft, tender bread.

Pour or spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is a beautiful golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice and serve warm, or toast slices later with a dab of butter. This Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread makes a delicious addition to any meal and fills your kitchen with the mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked cheese bread. Simple, savory, and perfectly satisfying!
