- First Layer: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Add Apples & Sugar: Sprinkle half of the chopped apples over the batter, followed by half of the cinnamon brown sugar mixture. Gently pat the apples into the batter so they adhere.
- Second Layer: Pour the remaining batter evenly over the apple layer. Top with the remaining chopped apples and the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Swirl: Lightly pat the apples into the batter, then use a knife or spoon to gently swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture through the top layer. Avoid overmixing to keep defined swirls.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top browns too quickly, loosely tent with foil during the final 10 minutes.
- Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before lifting it out.
Make the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk or cream until smooth and pourable. Adjust consistency slightly if needed — the glaze should drizzle easily.
