Step 1: Activate the Yeast
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk or water (about 100–110°F/38–43°C) with the sugar and instant yeast. Stir gently to dissolve the sugar and yeast.
- Let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy and bubbly. This step ensures that your yeast is active and ready to make the dough rise beautifully.
Step 2: Form the Dough
- Add the flour, salt, and oil to the yeast mixture. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, stir until all the ingredients come together into a soft, sticky dough. No kneading is necessary—just mix until there are no dry spots of flour.
- If the dough feels too sticky, sprinkle in a little extra flour, one tablespoon at a time, until it comes together. It should still feel slightly tacky but manageable.
