French Onion Soup Rice

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish lightly with butter or nonstick spray.

Step 2: Combine Ingredients

  1. Spread the uncooked long-grain rice evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  2. Pour the beef broth and French onion soup directly over the rice. Gently stir to make sure all the rice is covered with liquid.
  3. Evenly distribute the butter slices over the top — these will melt into the rice, creating a rich, flavorful coating as it bakes.

Step 3: Bake the Rice

  1. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil to trap in the steam and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for another 25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is fully absorbed. The top should be golden and slightly crispy from the butter.
