Homemade rolls (like from the bakery)

1️⃣ Sourdough

Crumble the yeast into a bowl, add sugar, a little lukewarm water and a tablespoon of flour.
Stir and let rise for 10-15 minutes.

2️⃣ Dough

Put flour, salt, oil, the rest of the water and the finished yeast in a bowl.
Make a smooth, non-sticky and elastic dough.
Cover and let rise for about 60 minutes, until doubled in volume.

3️⃣ Roll shaping

Divide the dough into equal parts (approx. 80-90 g).
Roll each piece into a triangle and roll it from the wider side into a roll shape.
Place on a baking sheet with baking paper.

4️⃣ Rising and sprinkling

Let the rolls rise for 20-30 minutes.
Brush with water and sprinkle with poppy seeds or salt.

5️⃣ Baking

Bake in a preheated oven at 220 °C for about 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
After baking, you can lightly spray the rolls with water for a shiny crust.

🍽️ Tips:

  • Fresh, still warm are best

  • Great for breakfast, sandwiches and soup

  • Can be frozen after baking
