Italian Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Sloppy Joe Filling

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes. Drain off any excess fat to keep the filling from becoming greasy.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 2–3 minutes, until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer. Let the mixture cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the meat evenly. The result should be rich, saucy, and full of flavor.

2️⃣ Prepare the Garlic Bread

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and garlic powder (if using). Mix until well blended to form a fragrant garlic butter spread.
  3. Slice the hoagie rolls or loaves in half lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each side of the bread.
  4. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet. For an extra indulgent touch, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the tops of the bread halves.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crisp around the edges, and the cheese (if used) is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

3️⃣ Assemble the Sloppy Joes
