Pizza Burger with Pepperoni & Mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with chopped pepperoni, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands or a wooden spoon until the ingredients are evenly distributed. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender and juicy.
  2. Form the patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Press a small indentation into the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly and prevent puffing during grilling or pan-frying.
  3. Cook the patties: Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the surface and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, or until nicely browned and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). During the last minute of cooking, spoon a bit of pizza sauce over each patty and top with a slice of mozzarella cheese. Cover the pan or close the grill lid to allow the cheese to melt completely.
  4. Toast the buns: While the patties finish cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a dry skillet until golden brown. This step enhances flavor and prevents the buns from becoming soggy once assembled.
