7-Up Biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Set the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet or a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, combine Bisquick and sour cream with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly. Add the 7-Up and stir just until combined — the dough will be very sticky, and that’s okay!
  3. Shape the Biscuits: Dust your counter or board with about ¼–½ cup Bisquick. Turn the dough out onto the surface and lightly coat it in the mix so it’s easier to handle. Gently pat (don’t roll) the dough into a 1-inch thick round or rectangle. Use a 2–3 inch biscuit cutter (or the rim of a glass) to cut out about 8 biscuits. Tip: Press straight down without twisting for best rise.
  4. Prepare the Pan: Pour the melted butter into the prepared skillet or dish. Arrange the biscuits snugly in the pan, leaving just a small space between each one.
  5. Bake: Bake for 12–14 minutes, until puffed and golden brown on top. For an extra golden crust, switch on the broiler for the last minute — but watch closely to prevent burning.
  6. Rest & Serve: Let the biscuits rest in the warm butter for 5 minutes before serving. They’ll soak up even more flavor while staying crisp underneath. Serve warm with butter, jam, or honey — or top with sausage gravy for a hearty breakfast.
