Cinnamon Apple Monkey Bread – Gooey, Buttery, and Irresistible

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or Bundt pan generously with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Prepare the Cinnamon Roll Pieces: Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters. In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar. Roll each cinnamon roll piece in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Assemble the Monkey Bread: Place the coated cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the bottom of the greased baking dish. Spoon the apple pie filling over the top, making sure to spread it out so some of the apple mixture seeps between the dough pieces. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon sugar and chopped pecans for extra flavor and crunch.
  4. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the center is cooked through. The apples and sugar will create a bubbling, caramel-like sauce.
  5. Brush with Butter: When the monkey bread comes out of the oven, immediately brush the top with ½ stick of melted butter. This gives it a glossy finish and even more buttery flavor.
  6. Cool and Glaze: Let it cool slightly before adding the glaze. Warm the cream cheese icing from the cinnamon roll cans in the microwave for about 10 seconds, just until pourable. Drizzle it evenly over the top of the cooled monkey bread.
