Ingredients
For the Dough:
- ¾ cup warm whole milk (110°F/43°C)
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar, divided
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg (optional, classic for donuts)
- 3 ½ – 4 cups (440-500g) bread flour (all-purpose works, but bread flour is chewier)
