🥣 Instructions
1️⃣ Season the Chicken
- In a bowl, combine cinnamon, ginger, turmeric (or saffron), paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
- Coat chicken pieces thoroughly with the spice mixture and marinate for at least 30 minutes (overnight for deeper flavor).
2️⃣ Brown the Chicken
- Heat a tagine base or heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
- Sear chicken pieces until golden on all sides (about 5–6 minutes). Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Build the Flavor
- In the same pot, add onion and garlic; sauté until soft and fragrant.
- Stir in the cinnamon stick, carrots, and preserved lemon (if using).
