Moroccan Chicken Tagine with Apricots

🥣 Instructions

1️⃣ Season the Chicken

  1. In a bowl, combine cinnamon, ginger, turmeric (or saffron), paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
  2. Coat chicken pieces thoroughly with the spice mixture and marinate for at least 30 minutes (overnight for deeper flavor).

2️⃣ Brown the Chicken

  1. Heat a tagine base or heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
  2. Sear chicken pieces until golden on all sides (about 5–6 minutes). Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Build the Flavor

  1. In the same pot, add onion and garlic; sauté until soft and fragrant.
  2. Stir in the cinnamon stick, carrots, and preserved lemon (if using).

4️⃣ Simmer the Tagine
