Southern Chocolate Cobbler

  • 1½ cups (360 ml) boiling water

Step 1 – Prepare the Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa powder.
  3. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Step 2 – Add the Topping

  1. In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder.
  2. Sprinkle this dry mixture evenly over the batter — do not stir.
